~ Well worth the wait ~

I didnt have to leave my yard as I patiently waited and waited….you have no idea, i wondered how bird watchers do it but now i know as its passion that drives them, that fuels their body mind and soul to be so patient , quietly waiting, for the right time to capture that special moment…just one glimpse…oh the excitement is most definitely hard to contain but one little noise and that moment will be lost forever…..

It was most definitely worth the wait 🙂

(sorry some pics not that great)

Nett, THEY ARE AMAZING. You have that passion that drives you where some of us cant go, like i said you and your pictures inspire me and i LOVE THEM ALL. Keep it up and looking forward to more pictures.

The little black one is the Black Sunbird and its mate isn’t the one in your pic which is the Yellow bellied Sunbird. His mate is very similar but has a grey head apparently. He eats spiders and some nectar. The pale pigeon is the Pied Imperial Pigeon from the Torres Straits, the pigeon in the tree is probably the Spice Imperial Pigeon but could also be the pacific Imperial….not enough definition to properly tell, the flying hawk is the Little Eagle and the bird perched on the tree with the crossed tail is the Moustached Tree Swift, he’s beautiful!!!!. The small bird with the red eye is a juvenile Metallic Starling. I need to come up and do some birding with you!!!!

Great post. Keep working on the pictures, you’re doing fine. It would be impossible I think to live on that island and not be a birdwatcher! I’d love to visit. The closest I’ve come is Flores. I should have kept going east!
